Generalized Anxiety
Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or GAD, is defined by chronic worrying that is difficult to control and causes symptoms such as irritability, muscle tension, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. People with GAD tend to picture the worst case scenario, and to expend a lot of energy worrying about it. You may be described as a "worrywart" or feel like "if it's not one thing, it's another." CBT is highly effective in treating anxiety, and addresses thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which cause and perpetuate the worry.
